FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international organization that motivates young people to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM through engaging robotics competitions. 
Among its premier programs is the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), where high school students team up with technology professionals to build and program robots. These robots compete in intricate games that change annually, promoting not only engineering and programming skills but also critical thinking, teamwork, and communication. Over a tight six-week build period, teams design, assemble, and test their creations, culminating in high-energy, sports-like events that are both challenging and inspiring.

We are FRC team 2714, BBQ. Founded in 2019, we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based out of the Dallas Fort-Worth area. Our community team is comprised of students from a variety of diverse backgrounds and interests from all across DFW. We all come together to design, build a robot and compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a global event that is a place for all students to learn, grow, and compete.

Our FRC Program is Mentor facilitated and powered by Sponsors and Families. Team 2714 strives to empower students to gain self-confidence and become leaders, collaborators, and critical thinkers while fostering a culture of STEM celebration in our community through robotics.

Our program is not just an extracurricular; it is a high-commitment time consuming activity, comparable to high level varsity sports or a job. It provides phenomenal learning opportunities in a fun and inclusive environment.
